    Okay, so here's the deal:

I shot a concert at my school with three different cameras. The timecodes are NOT synced up.

So far I've tried capturing them and just setting in points and then doing multiclips. in all my tests it worked fine. Now when I go to do it for the real thing I'm finding that certain clips are slipping out of sync (as if the video is running faster in one than the other... something that shouldn't be happening!)

I'm assuming that this is an error that is happening in the capturing process...

does anyone have any tips for how to go about doing this monsterous task?

should I capture each individual "number" in the show as their own clip? should I do it in 5 big chunks? One huge chunk per "act" (theres 2 acts). also, is there any suggestions for how I can ensure no drop frames, skip frames, or any issues during capturing? (how to turn off all unneeded processes, that sort of junk).

I'm getting VERY frusterated as I've now tried this TWICE and had nothing but trouble.

    Thanks in Advance!

    hiya..
    JUST AN IDEA...
i did a similar thing a few months back. 2 cameras recording a live band. 1 was set to record the whole show from the rear of the arena and the other moving around in front of the stage.
i kept setting common points (they weren't synced)... and it would work for a while.
I knew the 2nd camera was turned on and off. and compensated for this...
after many, many hours of chasing down errors... i found out that the camera i trusted as being on all the time... actually got paused acidentally on 3 occasions.
My work around was to sync the cameras towards the end of the footage and work back to find out of sync points!

    hmm maybe i'll try that...

are there any other suggestions? i have a feeling that there may be a glitch during the capture process

  4. I recently did the same thing for a wedding using the mutli-clip functionality and it was easy... once I started thinking like Apple wanted me to.

I had no syncing issues but shot with the same model and brand cameras. If you stopped and paused the cameras it will be a giant PITA!!!

thats the thing...i didn't stop or start them - they all ran from start to finish - they just weren't all the same type of cameras. Im going to try smaller segments and hope that works better.

  6. Use the audio from one camera if you can. That way dropping a few frames here and there may not be noticeable with concert type footage. Here is a good example on the best way to do it
