It seems that when I make a SVCD with Nero the mpg file is always 40 minutes? Even though I've cut the movie lengths to 45mins, 50mins, 55mins, even 30mins and 20mins, it still says 40mins on both my DVD player and my PC when I play it from the disc after burning. I want to be able to fit more on a disc and only use at most 2 CDs for a movie. Is there a way around this? Or am I doing something wrong? a setting somewhere? I've made 55minute segments and burned it, but only 40 minutes of it plays. As well, I have made 20 minutes segments and burned them with Nero and it still says it is 40 minutes long, but it stops after the 20 minutes. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

SVCD has a datarate of approx. 2600 kilobit/second.
So an average 700 MB CD can hold some 35 minutes.
2600 divided by 8 to get bytes.
Thats 325 kilobyte/second, 19,500 KB/minute, 700 MB/35 minutes.
What Nero does is converting the size of the file(s) to minutes, just like I showed you.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
