  1. I used DVDFab Decrypter to grab some video footage from a DVD.

I'm trying to save those VOBs as AVI files (video & audio).

When I open the VOB with VirtualDubMod I get this error:

MPEG: Anachronistic or disontinuous timestamp found in video stream 0 at byte position 303474706 from 37726689 to 37816779. This may indicate an improper join.

MPEG: Anachronistic or discontinuous timestamp found in audio stream 29 at byte position 303550482, from 37714707 to 37803987. This may indicate an improper join.

I'm able to save the VOB as an AVI with my codec of choice, however there is no audio in the AVI file when I'm done.

    Can anyone help?

does "stream->stream list" list any audio streams in the vob?

if you want avi divx/xvid you can use autogk instead. or use vob2mpg and get one mpg that you can open in virtualdubmod, virtualdubmpeg2.

  3. Yes it does. However when I try to save that stream as a WAV and import it into Adobe Premiere it tells me that it's an unsupported file.

Also, the AVI files I saved have audio in Win Media Player - however it does not sync with the video and when I import the same AVI into Premiere Pro, only the video will import, there is no audio.

  4. Is there any way to choose the audio format that is saved in the AVI? I can choose the video compression settings of the AVI - however I don't know where I can select the audio settings of the AVI file.

Try vob2mpg and convert the mpg to avi with virtualdubmod instead. To change audio in the avi right click in stream->stream list on the audio track and select full proccesing and then compression.

  7. I've also tried this Frameserve method: https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=261416

However I get a lot of audio/video sync problems with that option.
