i keep getting this "MP4: no supported tracks found." error message popping up and i'm not too sure why. i get it when media center (2005) is essentially tryin to thumbnail a m4v/mp4 file or when running WinAVI Converter, so i'm assuming the error is related to accessing a MP4 file or the codec itself
how do i get rid of this???

what decoder do you have for mp4? try haali media splitter and for video and audio formats use ffdshow.
-
Haali Media Splitter is the title of the window of the error message so I'm assuming it's already installed
basically, if I want to play video files with the .m4v and .mp4 extension (mainly podcasts/video blogs), what should I install to play them [properly]??? -
Are you using latest version? And haali media splitter is just the decoder for the mp4 container format you also need video and audio codecs, ffdshow can decode most.
Or use a player with builtin codecs like vlc or mplayer. -
Actually, I was getting a similar message with one of the latest versions (can't remember if Haali released another version and I've updated since seeing the messages
). Everything seemed to be working correctly otherwise, so I just disabled the display of error messages (Options > Interface > Display Error Messages) for the time being.
(Obviously, to anyone reading this, that's a 'do at your own risk' step. Make a note that you've done it, if you do disable the error messages.)If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
