getting External Exception E06D7363 - Video DVD Maker

Hi all

Bright shiny newbie here and pretty cluless on the whole area of DVd etc.

I ahve been trying to cretae a DVD using Video DVD Maker from a file on my PC.

I set it off running when I leave for work and when I get home I get the External Exception error stated above.

I ensure no other software is running and my connection to the internet is disconnected.

I ahve only started having this prob;em in the last few weeks - never had problems the few times in the past when I have used this software.

Anyone any ideas/solutions ?

I can find 2 common sources for that error code. One is related to LinkSys and wireless communications, the other is caused by software trying to read/write a file that is already in use or "locked". I expect your problem is the 2nd reference and is the result of whatever Video DVD Maker is trying to do.

Try removing and reinstalling the software and check for any updates. Other than that, try different software.

i did have a bit of a search on Google and I also found the wireless thing and thought nope not me.

Well it's staretd doing it again and even after downlaoding a new (newer version) it's still doing it.

Any other pointers anyone amd does anyone know of any other FREE software that will let me convert various file formats to DVD annd then burn to DVD disc ?

There are quite a few. Take a look in the TOOLS section.

ConvertXToDVD is one of the more talked about, there are others.

I have since posting this also stumbled across and downloaded avi2dvd - which looks pretty good even though it takes ages and needs lots of free disc space.
