I want to do is convert .avi and .mpg/.mpeg to bin/cue files

Hi, im interested in burning VCD's. Hopefully my first post is ok.

so far i have been burning VCDs from bin/cue files with Nero 6 for playback on standard DVD player.

what i want to do is convert .avi and .mpg/.mpeg to bin/cue files. i have been looking into it via google and various websites. i have EazyVCD(includesTMPGEnc), Cucusoft AVI to VDC/DVD and DVDx 2.2. it seems im able to convert .avi to MPEG1. what im not sure if it will playback as i dont have a DVD player. if this method will not work, is there some software for converting video files to bin/cue files?

I changed your subject. PLease DON'T use subjects like newbie needs helps or similiar.

Yes you can use EazVCD, Cucusoft, DVDx, Tmpgenc and convert to VCD MPEG and then author/burn them with VCDEASY and it will work on dvd players. VCDEasy can also output to bin/cue files that you can burn with Nero. See our guides list, Convert and VCD.

Or use NeroVision, choose VCD, add the mpg,avi and convert and burn.

ok, sorry bout the thread title.

i have been reading the guides but seem to find exactly what im looking for, EazyVCD only allows me to input the .evt files. i cant find any burning options. also i dont have Nero7 at the moment. just need a pointer in the right direction.

You don't need nero 7. You can also use nero burning rom 6 and select VCD and then add avi,mpg files also.

You didn't read Bal's comment. He said to use ****** to convert, then to use some other ****** to burn. You read the first part, and didn't read the second part.

unfortunately the filter as blocked some of your words, so im not too sure what you're trying to say.

That's not a filter. The point is just that you are looking at a two process and need to try both parts.

I haven't seen anyone else mention a programe called ---> VCDGear
VCDGear is a good program to convert VCD/MPEG/MPG/DAT files to BIN/CUE or the other way around and its free.

thanks for the help people, ive been using TMPGEnc to convert avi to MPEG and then VCDEasy to convert to bin/cue. i have some good templates, but im still struggling to get a file size that will fit on a CD-R without losing too much quality.
