  1. Hi everyone i'm new to this forum so let me just say hi & if this question has been posted anywhere else before I apologise. Well my problem seems to be this, i've joined together some avi files with virtual dub & its worked great. Unfortunately where i've joined the files together there must be a gap or something in the audio since I get a high pitch squeal for a millisecond or 2 while the next file starts to play. Anybody any ideas on how I go about correcting this???thanks in advance.

Seen this only happen once before .

    Load video into vdub
Set audio to full processing , set compression to none , set conversion to 41khz , 16bit , stereo .
    Save as wav

You have two choices to correct the squeel .

Audocity or goldwave , there are other's .

Loads wav into prefered audio editor .
Locate area with issue , use filter's to "squash" effected area ... not to almost silent point on line .

(Too many filters to recall off hand)

Playback the file after it's saved ... you may need to do this more than once , and it may never be perfect , but you will have removed the high pitched noise problem .
