I just bought a Panasonic DMR-E20 DVD recorder. I thought that since my DVD player was manufactured macro free (I copy dvd to vhs with no problem) that I would be able to backup my DVDs, but when I try I get a message that says "You are not allowed to copy this material"
The really freaky part is when I copied the dvd to a vhs tape and then tried to copy it to DVD, I got the same message!
Does anyone know how this is possible or how I can get around it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Try using the $49 Sima Video Copymaster between your dvd players. I've tried DVD-VCR, DVD-ATI Radeon, and VCR-ATI.
Cheap and perfect solution if you ask me.
