Recently, I had a problem with no MP3 codec showing up in the Virtualdub audio options, so I uninstalled all my codecs and installed the Nimo pack. Got the MP3 audio option back, but now when I try to convert from ASF/MPEG/WMV to AVI/Divx (with Winavi, ImTOO, V-Dub...tried em' all), I get only audio and a black picture......the resulting file takes as long as normal to encode, but it is only Kb's in size....just audio.

Took off Nimo and put on K-lite, but the problem is still here.

Sherlock reports no broken codec or other problems???

I did notice when using Winavi and ImTOO, that just before the conversions start, a very quick box appears for like a second and I believe it says something like "Applying......"???? It appears so fast, I can't read it fully.

Anyone have any experience with this????

Avoid codec packs. It is better to just install the ones you need or use ffdshow.

do you see the video in the preview in virtualdub?
what video codec are you converting to?

I'm converting using the Divx 6.2 codec.

I do see video in the Winavi preview window, but didn't check the Virtualdub....I'll go check that right now.

    Be right back.......

No video in V-Dub preview. Actually, ever since this problem happened, when I open a file in V-dub, it won't show the "opening screen" shot either.

I'm trying to read what is in that damn pop-up window, but it is just so fast.....

Try reinstall the divx codec from www.divx.com instead.

I've re-installed the Divx codec like 10 times. Still no luck. BOO!!!

I'm starting to believe this pop-up window has something major to do with it, as I've never seen this pop-up before.

Gonna give Winavi another try cause the pop-up stays up juuuust a few milliseconds longer than in V-dub. I have to figure out what the message is saying.

WinAVI + Codec Pack = Toast. It's the worst of all possibly scenarios.
