    Hey there you all,
I have been on this site before but @ first just wanted to try to burn movies without a DVD burner, didnt wanna buy, didnt have the need to burn movies but now I decided to buy 1 DVD burner from a computer show, I got a LITE ON 18X DUAL BURNER for a good price.
Anyways, I saw before buying the burner a while back, saw some good programs to make copies, but really want 1 program which will do everything, I really DO NOT want to write movie to my hard drive 1st then make the copy.
WHAT I want is to use one single program(simple if there is 1), which will copy the DVD movie & just burn-make a copy of it straight to the DVD burner I have.(no other steps in between)

In other words, I want to:
Insert my movie I BOUGHT(Yes its legally mine), then click on few times & there it is, making a copy of it into my burner....then few mnts or maybe 1 hour later I have my copy to be played on any dvd player......is there any free programs like that?
If possible(if there is 1), does that program have a tutorial like others have here?.

If there is no such program for FREE & there are only programs to use with others meaning I have to use 1 program to copy movie to hard drive then use other to make copy, what is it?

Is there or are there any programs (If I have to use 2 to do this then), are there 2 programs that will work together for this....like this:
1 program will be started to rip-write movie to hard drive then the other to make copy will automatically start to do that.....any?

But 1st the 1 program if there is 1 could be better...

    Thanks in advance...

Most any commercial video out there is more than will fit on a regular DVD-5. But if you wanted to backup a movie without any size reduction to a dual layer DVD, you could use DVD Decrypter: ISO Read>ISO Write. But it will only work with older encryption formats.

Why not use RipIt4Me and DVD Shrink? It will handle most any encryption format. Then you can put the DVD backup on a regular DVD-5. It takes about 40 minutes with my system for most DVDs. All the mentioned programs are freeware, BTW.

A direct disc copy, DVD to DVD, even with a unencrypted DVD would have a good chance of getting a corrupted copy. Not really worth the risk.

    And welcome to our forums.

Well red got to it first....but here's my post anyway

Disc to disc dvd copying either isn't possible or is highly unrecommended due to the fact that it may cause issuses with the dvd, or that is what I have been lead to believe. Your probably going to have to rip the dvd to your pc then burn to dvd.

    Try

    1. Rip with dvddecrypter or dvdFab decrypter (for newer dvds) Both Free
    2. Edit dvd with dvdshrink 3.2 (takes out credits, warnings trailers etc.)
    3. Fit to dvd with dvd2one (only if after doing step #2 the movie is still larger than 4.7GB) can also skip this step if using Dual layered media
    4. Burn to dvd using CopytoDVD (payware)

You can also us steps 1, 2, and use imgburn(freeware) for step 4 to burn to dvd

Oh, there are free programs to do that, indeed. But I doubt there is one that will allow you to do an on-the-fly copy of a commercial DVD, as most of them have some form of protection, and you need to rip them to the HD first. And there's also the issue of the size of the disc you're backing up and the available space on the disc you're going to burn to - if the destination has less space available than the size of the source, you'll have to shrink it. Have you checked the DVD Backup guides?

    Thx for the quick reply...
So the program "DVD Decrypter", will work as 1 single program to do it ALL? meaning...insert movie, click on ISO Read, then with the blank DVD disc inside, then click on ISO Write?
nomore?..no copying to HD involved or yes?

Also for the 2 programs you mentioned:
    RipIt4Me and DVD Shrink
will they work together, meaning one will launch after other is done with its process?

    JC.

Anyways...thx for the reply.....good help...BUT Other help is still appreciated...please read my first post for more info.

What dvddecrytper does is copies the ISO to your PC, you then select Iso write and it then writes the ISO to the blank dvd. You then need to delete the ISO from PC or check the box on dvddecrypter that says delete when finished (or something like that)

  7. I don't understand why you don't want to rip to your HDD first...it only takes ~10min.As was said the easiest and fastest way to make a copy is to use DL media and DVDDecrypter->ISO Read->ISO Write.
As for decrypting on-the-fly:I believe DVD43 and AnyDVD can.

Any more suggestions for this? Would be really appreciated.
BTW, that IMGBURN software rules....quite fast....I like the integration w/ DVD Shrink.
But more suggestions as I said would be nice.

I have used them both now for like 4 times & watched the 1 copy only I made, but the copy made was sort of corrupted almost @3/4s of the movie, it stopped, I bought according to review, the best discs which almost never skip...any suggestions?
I haven't watched the others 3 copies made...but none of the copies gave me a problem when creating them.
