    I've got an AVI thats 1hr 40 min, wish to convert to DVD and burn to disc. How can I add chapters so I don't have to "scan" through the movie?

    I follow the AVI to DVD steps (use Disc Utility to burn the image) everything works fine, just want to break the video into smaller parts

    Toast would add chapter marks in 5 minute intervals for MPEG streams without chapter marks (but would respect the marks if present).
    DVD Studio Pro would be the prosumer way to add chapters.
    Sizzle can also do markers, using a timed text file. Search the forums (ffmpegX, Mac) for a how-to.
