  1. I'm trying to burn a video I've authored in Premiere Elements and DVD-Lab Pro. The DVD compilation goes fine, and the finished VOBs work great. However, regardless of what burning app I use, the main VOB audio doesn't play on the finished DVD. The music on the menu does however.
I figured there was some kind of problem with the files, but if it plays fine on the machine, why should they not have audio on DVD?

    Any help is much appreciated.

how do you play the dvd? don't just play vob files, use a real dvd software player like powerdvd, vlc or mpc and choose to open a dvd from hd.
what kind of audio? mpeg,ac3 or dts?
does it work on your standalone dvd player?

  3. sorry, should have been more clear
the dvd does not produce audio from the main VOBs (i.e. corresponding to the actual movie) on either the standalone or dvd software. however, the vob files from which i burned the dvd do play fine with audio in a program such as VLC.
    the audio format is ac3
most bizarre part is that it used to work using the same files. i initially burned the dvd without special features, played fine on the standalone, then went back into dvdlab, tweaked a few things to add a slideshow, re-burned it, and the audio no longer plays from the movie component. the audio does play with the title slide, as well as during the slideshow however.

    Hi rockatschip
If you recompiled the same DVD as you are suggesting, make sure that the original movie audio file is still on your hard drive in the same location as before. Location which is stated in you asset bin.

When you compiled your DVD, did you see any warnings before the compile about audio mismatch within a VTS?

Did you mix audio formats within the same VTS? If so, you might try moving the slideshow into its own VTS to see if that helps...
