Hope this makes sense.
When I play an mpeg or avi file in WMP or any other player the original video is squashed into a widescreen band in the top half of a 4:3 aspect video. i.e. all the video is shown but a big black band is also displayed below the video. All this happens in a 4:3 aspect but the net result is the original 4:3 video looks like a widescreen video at the top of a normal 4:3 window. I'm confused why this is happening.
Any help appreciated
