  1. I just got the instant tv deluxe but can't get it working. I installed all the drivers and even updated to the newest ones. But when I click on capwiz I get
DV0001: Unable to initialize USB Capature Device. Pleas check poweer light and secure all cable connections.

I go through the wizard thing but when I try to capture I get

cw0005: unable to detect USB Capture Device Please check power light and secure all cable connections.

I have windows xp sp2 updated. I have searched and found people with the same problem, but no solution.

EDIT: THis is pci not usb

edit 2: more like crapwiz. the windows xp software looks like its working

1: Uninstall all drivers installed for device .
2: Unistall any other programs packaged with device .

3: Turn pc off at power point .
4: Remove the device hardware from pc .

    ---------------------------------

Download latest drivers ... for PCI unit only ... you may have been supplied a screwed up installation cd which dose happen quite often ... and it end's up installing what you dont need .

1: Install driver package for pci unit .
2: Install capture software that came with unit .

3: Turn pc off at power point .
    4: Install card .
5: Turn pc on ... xp will pick it up from there .

    ---------------------------------

Be aware of pci slot arrangements :

Onboard video / agp slot / pci
Share resources ... you may only use one .

    Pci2 / pci3
Share resources ... you may only use one

    Pci4 / pci5
Share resources ... you may only use one

I have seen pc's with slots completely filled , and they wonder why they had so many problems with devices not fully working , and sudden system restarts .

    -----------------------------

    Note : Pci capture devices

You may need to remove all non-essential cards from other pci slots to determine which pci slot best suits the card ... in the wrong slot , the device may fail to initialize , cause system freeze's , crash's ... and many other irritating problems you dont need ...

This is due to the way the system manages resource's via the bios with device's pre built into the motherboard ... ie , audio , network , vga , usb , legacy devices such as floppy drives ... it dose send you nutt's after a while .
