I am currently making a music video intended for distribution on the net using Adobe Premiere V6.0.
But the format I'm working with takes forever to render with! Everytime I add a clip it requires me to render it. Thats in addition to special effects.
From what I understand only certain types of codecs require rendering to view when they are imported. Lucky, I got SUPER to convert the source material to a more workable codec.
I am using MPEG-1 for the video codec.
Is there a better codec that does not require rendering when I import it into Premiere? OR a codec which requires less rendering time.

Decompress it to RGB. What is the input video resolution and frame rate? Set Premiere Project to match.
Premiere 6.0 is very old now ~2000. It won't know about MPeg4 or other new fangled codecs.
