    Nero 5551/5564; XP pro 2600; SONY CRX-175A1

I can burn data CD but not DV footage VCD.
MPGs to be feed to Nero are all VCD2.0 compliant and previously work on my ME/ W2k system and older CD Writers.

  2. What exactly is your problem? Error messages? etc.

You need to provide more details.

Actually, I read his question as more of a statement. NERO does do DATA CD's, and really doesn't do VIDEO very well. Instead of trying to get NERO to work, I would pick a different program for video.

That said, yes more information is needed, since it sounds like you're encoding from a format TO VCD, which opens up all the problems with encoding as well as the problems authoring to disk...

By "DV"... you mean off a DV video camera? Or just any digital capture off a computer? (AVI, MPG, QT)

  4. I certainly disagree with "homerpez".

I find Nero quite good, like a lot of VCDhelp visitors.

  5. Nero is adequate for simple multitrack VCDs but nothing else.

If you want more complex VCD structures (e.g., menus, chapters, etc.) you will need to use something else (e.g., VCDImager). And yes, I know that Nero can do menus but Nero authors still menus incorrectly and don't work on many players.
