  2. Double-check your screen resolution. I got this problem when I tried to make a 320x240 VCD. I resized it to 352x240 and everything was fixed.

An incompatible media brand could explain the jittering of the movie but would not explain the audio going out of sync.

I am suprised that you have acheived this problem sticking to VCD specs.. it is normally a sign of a DVD player throughing a wobbly at the amount of X in an XVCD.

Test the playback of the VCD disk on your computer. If all is well, I would double double check the settings in CCE and check that you haven't accidently selected something (e.g. VBR rather than CBR) that you shouldn't have done.

If all else fails, convert with TMPGEnc instead and see if you get better results.

  5. I am assuming TMPGenc will not let you create a NTSC VCD at that resolution (as well as a PAL VCD at 352x240). Oh, I just noticed you used CCE. Well double check that.

Hmmm... Did you use an external audio encoder? Perhaps you inadvertantly created mp3 audio instead of mp2. I am grasping straws here...
