    Hello everyone.

I have a DVD with a few recordings, but it this was recorded by a friend of mine, and he captured publicity and other stuff, so I was wondering if there isn't any software that allows me to make edits to the Vobs. I only want to edit the vobs, nothing else.
It's to complicated to me to convert to Avi (or something like that), to make changes and then convert again to Vobs.

    Thanks in advance.

You can copy the vobs to the harddrive and then use something like vob2mpg to get a mpg file out of it. From there you can use editors that work with mpeg and reauthor your completed project.

If you are just editing out commercials or making clips out of it you should not notice any quality loss. It depends on what kind of editing you're doing as to whether or not it will drop in quality. Filters and things like that may introduce some loss - you'd be better off using the original source file if you could get a hold of it.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  4. TDA is not free, but is the fastest and most user friendly solution. There is no quality loss at all using TDA as it does not re-encode the MPEG2 (DVD), it just performs basic editing and re-authoring.

If you need frame accurate editing, look at MPEG Video Wizard. It only re-encodes at the edit point.
