I have some questions about transferring video from my Comcast motorola DVR to my computer....I am new to doing this so any help would be much appreciated.

So far, I tried transferring to my labtop PC via firewire port on the back of the DVR.

I read somewhere to download a program or driver so my PC would recognize my DVR...I am running windows XP... so I downloaded CapDVHS with the driver for my motorola DVR model.
This seemed to work at first as the device was properly recognized and I used CapDVHS to capture the video from the DVR... It created an mpeg2 video file which played on my computer except the audio did not work- Is this just a playback problem with not having a certain codec or something like that?

Or is it a problem the way it was transferred?

The video was recorded in HD and I am not sure if this has anything to do with the transfer or playback issues.

Since the first attempt, I upgraded my version of NERO which includes a program to transfer from DVR. Ever since I upgraded , Nero immediatley recognizes the connection to DVR but my computer crashes with an error that has something to do with the driver originally installed with the CapDVHS program...SO now I can not even get anything to transfer since as soon as I connect my DVR to my computer via firewire cable, my computer crahses after a couple of seconds....PLEASE HELP

Anyways, anyone who may have any suggestions, links, things I need to download, etc, to get video from my DVR to labtop via firewire and playback on my computer properly- this advice would be much appreciated- Thanks
