half way through encoding i get this message "the instruction at "0x015e97a8" referenced memory at "0x01543d18". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program"

any ideas wots happening?? im finding it very frustrating especially the movies im converting are 2 and a half hours long!!

Could be any number of things. If the problem only happens with one vob file, then that vob file is most likely corrupt. If it happens with multiple vob files, then it could be an issue with the application or your computer.

Are you working with the vobs directly from the dvd or are they on your HD? If they are on your HD, how it you get them onto the HD?

You could also just use a different tool. The tool of choice is AutoGK.

hi. wos using fab decrypter and the vob files were the da vinci code. i tried backing up my ray dvd using the same programs and the same thing happened. since ive unistalled the fab decrypter and just ripping the dvds straight into avi using the divx dvd ripper (which up to now is working great!!). so it must have been the fab dvd decrypter.

    thanks anyway

I had one hell of a problem making a back-up of the USA NTSC DVD release of THE DA VINCI CODE. I think that DVD is buggered up!

I finally got it to work but was a major pain-in-the-ass especially getting the forced subtitles to sync (which I had to do manually).

First time I ripped it with RipIt4Me but that output was useless. Then I ripped it with DVDFab Decrypter and eventually that worked but oh what a pain!

Also I did a somewhat "manual" back-up process to a new single layer DVD-R ... I can't imagine that autoGK would work on this DVD ... at least not with the way DVDFab Decrypter ripped it.

    Damn Sony DVD disc!
