  1. when trying to convert this avi-file,
it generates an error (can not open, or unsupported)
so i thought i would generate a new avi file with virtual dub, but then i get this message:
    "couldn't locate decompressorfor format mp42 (microsoft high-speed mpeg-4 V2)"

Can somebody help me out here???

    The file is:
    5th Element (WS) [DivX].avi

  3. i can watch it with my windows mediaplayer,

but when i try to convert it with virtual dub,
    it also says:

"Virtual dub requires a vdieo for windows (vfw) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by windows mediaplayer, are not suitable."

Does anybody know how to cope with this problem?

    thanks
