I encoded The Grinch to mpg with TMPEG. I was going to cut the movie to place it on 2 cd's but am having problems. I go to the MPEG tools choose Cutting and Merge (think that is the menu name), and add the file. The problem comes when I choose the file and click edit it comes up but I cannot play it. I get nothing. The play marker sits at the end of the play bar and I cannot move it. It looks like it does not recognize that it has a size or is valid. The file is 1.5 megs in size.
Can anyone tell me what I did or am doing wrong?
Thanks

Hello Montei
Once i had problem with TMPGenc 2.02, it did not recognize my AVI file.
The screen was Black.
The only version working fine was 1.2B.
I told myself there was a problem,
I installed firts version (in Japan) of TMPGenc 1.1A + path english.
Then i launched earliest version, and surprise it was working fine.
I propose you to try it. Maybe it will correct your problem.

Had the same problem about a months (or 2) ago.
I could solve it by installing the mpeg2 codec that can be found here;
http://www.dvd-wizards.com/vcdhelp/mpeg2codec_installer.zip
I know....TMPGenc Cut&Join always worked but suddenly stopped working.... Same here. Don't understand it either but this solution worked for me.
If that doesn't work you could try searching for an older version of TMPGenc (only 12a or 12Beta) They work but just once again, after that same problem....
Try it to believe it.There R 3 sides on every story;
