I'm a new user. I only use ffmpegx to encode files for DVD. Unfortunately, it seems that ffmpegx encodes the .mpv and .ac3, but also the muxed .mpg, which I don't need at all. Is there a way to disable creation of the .mpg file?

Also, is there a way to save my preset in the quick presets instead of just to a file and having to load it every time I use the program?

    Thanks,

    Sebastian

I usually go the other way (DVD -> divx) so I know nothing about the disabling the muxed file.

However, instead of opening ffmpeg, you should open the preset (by double clicking or however you would normally open ffmpeg: throw it on your dock for easy access). That way you're doing "just as much work" but your preset automatically loads. You can even call the preset ffmpegX.ffx if you want.
