hey all. last year i found a proggie that would fix the audio sync on my portable rca. now the file wasnt anything less than the original avi, but it had to fix something in the file to make the audio in sync. of course it still took sevral minutes to fix/encode a 40 minute tv show.

i remember it made a new name with "archos" in the filename. BUT, for the life of me, I cannot find this piece of software.

    any ideas???

Good luck on that one. Archos Downloads, though I don't think they will help: http://www.archos.com/support/download/software.html?country=global&lang=en

If you have a out of sync video, there can be many reasons for sync problems. You would need to know the format of the video and audio. Gspot 2.60 is good for that. If it's Xvid or similar, then MP3 VBR audio would be the the prime suspect. You may be able to fix that with VirtualDub by saving out the audio as a WAV and re-encoding it to CBR audio. Framerate changes from PAL<>NTSC is another major contributor.

the vid plays perfectly fine on the computer, or standalone divx player, it only gets goofed on my rca lyra. so i found this proggie, and it "fixed" it to play on my lyra. funny thing is, the "fixed" file plays fine on the computer or standalone too.
