I'm looking for software that will allowing playing videos according to a schedule something like Portia Media Center http://www.portiasoft.com/DotNetNuke2/DotNetNuke2/VideoCenter/UserGuide/Calendarwindow...9/Default.aspx

We are making various video materials about out school's activities and want to show it on a large screen TV in our lobby. We want to be able to determine at the beginning of each week what video materials will be played at different times of the week.

    Can anyone suggest alternatives?

    Thanks!

There are quite a few different ways to do this. The Windows Scheduler is simple to use and already installed. Find it under Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools. Use it to launch your player and files. If your player supports playlists, create a playlist for the week and launch that instead.

If you have a large budget, some like this would be ideal -> http://www.d-co.com/broadcast-automation-software.html

There's your problem. You don't set it up to pick the video file, you pick the video application, or better, a batch file that has a command line script that tells the application which video and/or playlist to use.
