    Is there a format that can encode/decode/play audio files with surround sound? (4.0,5.1,7.1,etc.)

    there are several. ac3, dts, multichannel wave, aiff, etc......

    even mp3 can contain multi-channel audio.

    is it possible to convert ac3 to acc multichannel? And what would be the best software to do this?
