hi,
i am new with subtitles and i do saw softwares of subtitle but in all of them we have to type ....... can anyone guide me to such a software inwhich one put the audio stream / movie and it generate subtitle by itself .......... like we have a tool in winxp for deaf ppl we speak and it is written in the window .......................

No such tool. Most dictate software requires some learning from the person who talks and with background audio as in movies it is even harder.

so u prefer typing method. Can u recommend me best of the best software.... i am working in a school of Special children... here when we show a movie we have to make hand signs so they understand and if we have such a software which produce subtitle i am very grateful .......... please i need the best of the best ........................... -
I doubt there's a "best of the best" program, it all comes down to your personal preferences in the end. Personally, I use Sub Station Alpha, Medusa and, lately, Aegisub in combination, and sometimes Subtitle Workshop. The first three will allow you to see the sound waveform on the screen, which can be helpful in properly determining the start and end of a sentence. The last three will play the video, which is useful when you're looking for signs on the picture which you may need to translate.
