here's my dillemna...i have 2 xvid files...both w/ subs and i want to convert them over to dvd w/ convertXtodvd.....now.....both play fine on the pc...the subtitles are in sync an no issues at all.....as soon as i drop them into convertX....i play the newly created vob files and the subtitles become out of sync and the subs that do appear are now black text instead of white......i went through this 2wice...the 2nd time i changed the settings in convertX to change the font style and the color to force the subs to be different...nothing changed......so i looked around videohelp and i found Subtitle Workshop...I opened the .sub file the xvid came w/ and it gave me an error message....subtitles are either damaged or not the right subtitles...etc....so i looked around online and found a different version of the subtitles....they didn't match up w/ the 2 xvid files but they did show up when i used convertX to redo them to dvd....i forced convertX to change the font and color of them and it worked....since these subs aren't in sync w/ these subtitle files i now assumed that the original subs that came w/ the 2 xvid files are indeed damaged
my question is....is there a way to fix the original subs so they'll work properly when converted over to dvd format? Or y are they damaged etc...will i have to go through a process where i'll have to time encode each individual sub to fix whats happening...that would be a bummer since ive never seen this movie.......they are idx,ifo and sub respectively....i just cant understand y they play fine on the pc and are out of sync and the color has changed when converted over
