For some years I have been using Premiere and a Matrox RT2500 board to make dvds. I am now building a new rig with the Intel E6400 dual core processor and XP. (I may go to Vista next year.) With the move from W2K to XP I can now upgrade to Premiere Pro. I have heard that Pro with a duel core processor is faster than the hardware acceleration facilities on the Matrox plus Matrox no longer support their products. Is it worth ditching the Matrox card and using an all software solution using Pro?
Cheers
