For some reason, my latest attempts at backing up movies has stalled. But only with DL. I use DVD Fab and then Nero 6. Shrink has the same problem. I get a completed disc that recognizes in both of my DVD players and everything. But when the previews end, the movie stops to the dvd players orignal menu and I cant go any further other than watch the previews again. Yet these discs play fine in PCs without problem. Is this crap media possibly? I have sucessfully made DL burns before. I did get some funny skipping around in MI3, which did work outside of that issue as a DL movie. Media is Verbatim 8x +R DL.

I have a NEC 3550 with 1.06 firmware. I have 2 PCs and both have NEC 3550s and have this problem..

    TIA for all help

    morpheuss,

Since you don't appear to be having a problem burning, you're using good media, your firmware is up to date, and your players have previously worked with DL burns, that pretty much leaves some kind of damage to the navigational structure as the source of the problem That could happen during the ripping of the original, or as a result of some other processing step taken after the ripping and before the burning.

You could try re-ripping an original dvd with RipIt4Me instead of DvdFab Decrypter. If that works, you know what the problem is. If that also fails, then something you're doing between the ripping and the burning is the problem. In that case, if you detail exactly the post-ripping-pre-burning steps you're taking, the "fly in the ointment" might present itself.

I see this was your first post here, so welcome to VideoHelp.

  3. The most obvious answer is Nero is at fault. Anytime I see a post with "problem with DL" in it I automatically guess they are using Nero. Try using IMGBurn....
