  1. This may be a bit unusual so I hope someone can help me..

I had use of a Panasonic DVD recorder while staying with a friend out of town except I didn't "finalize" all the DVD I had started recording with the DVD recorder.

We had a video camera hooked up to it with footage and I desperately need access to it.

I thought of even shipping all my DVDs to him to finalize but he no longer has the machine.

So... i need to find a way to access these video files or finalize the DVD... or I guess i have to go and buy a panasonic DVD recorder... which will have to be a last resort-

is there ANYWAY to finalize the DVD or get access to the DVD contents?

    thanks,

    andy

  3. i'm on a MAC and the DVD doesn't even load.

I've tried to mount it with various programs:

toast, popcorn, macripper, dvd2one etc but it won't load.

i have windows on my intel powerbook and now trying to use IsoBuster Pro v1.9.1.1 but it's really slow and getting lots of errors.

  5. Visit circuit city or best buy & use a panny at the store to do it. Why not? They are display models, so maybe they do it for you. I have a couple of pannys, they are pretty much the same so they should be able to do it.

I had the same problem with a customers dvd, her daughter who lives in Scotland sent her
the 2006 Military Tatoo on dvd but didnt finalize it. Her mother is here in Australia.

Anyways, the way i got the footage back was using ISOBUSTER and basically did a 'data recovery'

My ISOBUSTER was a trial version (1.9 i think.... and it wouldnt let me save the data
BUT... it created TEMP files which were about 1 gig (and had a NON-video file extension)

Just for laughs i opened one up with PowerDVD...and it was VIDEO/SOUND !!! yay

In closing, i had trouble reconverting the files back to dvd (tried Nero and Ulead no luck) in the
end i just played them trough PowerDVD and outputed Video/Sound to an external Dvd Recorder and problem solved.

Would been much easier if her daughter had finalized the disc
