He was tearing himself up too badly making the Bond films. Too many serious injuries in the action scenes.
I too wish he would have been able to stay with the series.
and yes, "The Matador" totally kicked ass.
Xylob, Thanks for answering my question. I never really got the scoop on why he was out.
I thought the studio cut him. Just couldnt imagine it being his decision.
That suprises me. I would have insisted on more body doubles or stunt doubles at least. Hard for me to imagine turning down that kind of pay day..which he will never see again.
But if he saved his money correctly and maybe got a back end deal on a couple of his runs he should still be worth 100million... which aint bad.
    Thanks again for the info.
    Regards,
    NL

An anti-piracy group has reported that pirate copies of the film have already appeared for sale in London.

"The rapid appearance of this film on the streets shows the sophistication and organisation behind film piracy in the UK, " said Kieron Sharp, from the Federation Against Copyright Theft.

"Film piracy is a crime being committed on UK streets, in markets and online and one that generated over £270 million for criminals in the UK alone," he added.

DAMN! Who would waste bandwidth on that kind of quality? YECH!!! Mind you I'm not in favor of any piracy but its amazing what people would put up with to save a few bucks..... GO TO THE MOVIE THEATER! It's got to be easier than watching that garbage.......

I am a big fan of the series since i have watched every one on film. But this one is a soft love story, there is no hype gadgets, no rocket firing cars, laser watch none of the stuff i love about James Bond movies.
This is just a soft James Bond love story

Unfortunately it's difficult to keep it civil when there are so many idiotic comments that get posted.

Saw it on Friday - well worth it.

This film has rescued the franchise from the cesspit it fell into after Die Another Day.

Saw it last night and thought it was quite good. It is a little different from all the Bond movies we are used to, but that should be expected. I thought Craig played the role of Bond pretty well actually. I liked the story line and thought it was fairly well written minus a few things that I disliked a bit.

I want to see it really bad. At first I was upset when they chose Daniel Craig but after seeing the trailer he looks like a great bond.

  7. Daniel Craig is a very good actor ...in the right part. I saw him recently and he was great in a great B+ movie. Sorry cant remember the recent release name of the film.
But I cant imagine him as the "Bond".
That may be the feeling of many. (?)
    Regards.

I was not happy with it. I just saw it this afternoon. Craig is just blah........ and the action, what there was of it, was rather uninspired.... definitely a disapointment.

I'll see it, but only on DVD. No way I'm going to a theater to see it.

    I'm a "Sean Connery IS Bond" die-hard
