Vegas freezes, or the whole PC stops dead ?

If it is the latter, try taking the case off and blowing a small desk fan through the PC while you render. If it succeeds, heat is your problem. Make sure there isn't a layer of dust on your CPU and other components, and consider better colling for your system.

FWIW, I didn't look at this sooner because of the post subject. "Vegas locking up when rendering" would have got my interest.

I can't see anything here that indicates a page file problem.

A couple of things to try

    1. Render to a different codec. You have plenty of options in a vanilla Vegas install, and you can always add other choices like Lagarith for lossless encoding.

    2. Try rendering without audio

    3. Try removing the stills that are around the 15-18% mark of your time line.

ok , so removing the audio did not work , removing the stills in the area where it would seem to freeze didnt work) but this morning I decided to just try and render smaller peices of it , later putting them back together in anoother program and that worked at least sort of , it renders then i try to go in and do another section or two , and i am not sure but the next file will freeze ( i dont know the sizes i made these files ) .. but does this help anyone with my problem .. vegas used to work aso well for me , never freezing up ... help again

It really sounds more like a system/load problem, but without more to go on, it is difficult to be more specific.

Try booting into safe mode, and then retry your project. If it goes farther, or doesn't hang up at all, the problem is with your system and/or resources available...
