    I can edit avi video to cut out unwanted scene, but how about MWV video???

    I presume you mean WMV? Try Windows Movie Maker.

    You would need VDub MPEG2 and even then it can only open it. It can't output wmv.

    Check out super .

    As you are running xp , try converting them from wmv to dv avi using movie maker ... provided they are not the "wrapped" type ... as parts ... then convert dv avi using one of the free dv1 to dv2 converters in the tools section ... then vdub will beable to handle the rest ... append mode to join parts .

    The long way about is to have a video card with tv out , and play it out to a recording device .

    Mine gose ... pc > vcr ... later ... vcr back > pc (avertv usb2 on pc for recoding) .

  5. VirtualDubMod can read WMV files via the DirectShowSource option if you have AVISynth installed. Actually, so can VirtualDub but you'll have to create the AVS script yourself.

    If you use AVISynth though then technically you can just use trim() commands to edit and you don't VDub. AVISynth means decoding and serving raw video though.
