guys, need help. got a Sony digital cam. can transfer still pictures from the memory stick. just took a video through the tape. how do i transfer it to my PC using USB? is there anyway that i can do it without using a video capture card as i do not have one. thanks in advance.

your gonna need some type of capture card for video, I think, dont think any CAMs let you just transfer through USB w/o a capture card.
Just get a firewire type of DV cap card or something, on ebay they are cheap as.

thanks mate. the sony does allow transfer but only with iLink/Firewire using Videowave. is there such a thing as an iLink port or something, would that be cheaper than DV cap?

iLink is just the Sony "brand label" for FireWire or IEEE-1394 interface. Just get a generic card that is OHCI compliant. Should cost $50 US.
