    Hello!
I found a post on the site which explains how to make the above mentioned DVD Recorder Codefree. However, it doesn't work for me. Did anybody here tried that suggested procedure?

On the site it says you have to:
    - Turn recorder ON
    - Press Eject
    - Press Menu
    - Highlight System Options
    - 8,2,1,3,9 + OK

It doesn't work. How would you interpret the last line? Do I have to press all the numbers after each other and only the nine together with OK, or everything at the same time?

Is there any other way I could make the recorder codefree?

Thank you very much for your help!

Here is a slightly different version:
    Turn ON player.
Press Open/Close on the front of the DVD-recorder.
    Press Menu
    Highlight System Options
    Press 8 , 2 , 1 ,3 , 9 + OK
You may want to try different things like
pressing menu AND the eject button at the same time.

I hacked my Thomson player with something VERY similar
to these two mentioned above and it was not difficult.
You might just be doing one little thing wrong.

It doesn't work. Is no one here who also has the Thomson DTH 8560 E and who made it code free?

Unfortunately most people here are from the US or the UK and probably have never heard of Thomson. I never heard of Thomson until I moved here(Germany).

RCA is Philips....and Thomsons look nothing like either of them if you ask me but hey...I haven't been out shopping for a recorder for a few years.

Yeah, guess I was confused. But I think Thomson is affiliated with some other company whose name would be immediately recognizable stateside. I could be wrong here too, but I think Thomson may have been behind the ProScan brand of TVs, which seem to have departed the market a few years ago.
