I want to add subtitle on News clip avi video for deaf people.
The avi video size is 400- 357, but I want to add black back ground on bottom for caption. I mean I want to add space for subtitle. There is text for name on video, so I don't want to add extra black space so that I don't have to put subtitle on TEXT.
How can I expand screen???

If I understand you correctly ... you want to do this:
Original Frame:
Take that and do this:
Is that what you are trying to explain?
Also can you possibly post an image from your AVI video file? It will help me to give you the proper numbers needed to resize it correctly. The best way to get a snap shot from the video is to load it into VirtualDubMod and use the built-in function to take a snapshot.
Also sorry for that image ... yes it is Japanese anime ... was the only image I had ... sorry no news footage image on my computer LOL

P.S.
Read this post for how to post an image: CLICK HERE
Skip to the part called UPLOADING because you want to take the snapshot using VirtualDubMod and NOT follow the method used in that description for getting the photo. Just follow the directions on how to post an image."The eyes are the first thing that you have to destroy ... because they have seen too many bad things" - Lucio Fulci
