  1. Hi,

    Can I change .MP4 audio file extension with .AAC without problems. I did it but don't know if can generate an audio problem.


    Extracted from CD with Nero Express (Nero6)

    LC-AAC Transparent

    From my experience, MP4 files are not identical to AAC:

    #1 MP4 is the MPEG(4) container format, which can include video/audio/subs/otherstreams (how do you know it's got audio?)--for that you usually would have .M4a

    #2 Even if you knew it was just audio (and even if it was AAC-encoded audio), the audio in MP4 is encapsulated, whereas the AAC is not--just the raw encoded stream.

    You need to demux (try MP4box). File renaming won't do it.
