  1. I just bought the Radeon All In Wonder and am trying to capture from VHS to the PC for editing. I'm using a TV with a built in VCR. The TV only has a coaxial cable connection in the back so I attached an RF modulator and ran the audio and video rca plugs to the ATI Input Adapter. I followed the rest of the instructions in the manual but when I try to capture it does not work. Am I doing something wrong or can it only be done with a stand alone VCR? I don't have one to try, just the TV. Any advice would be great.

What is the problem? No video, no sound? I have the 64Mb DDR card have been using the composite connections to the card from the VCR and the audio separately to my sound card--seems to work well. All i can think of is that because the TV is attached to the VCR you would maybe have to "tell" the VCR to output to the composite ports (not really sure as I don't have one)

  3. The problem was when I tried to capture from the VCR there was nothing. Today I tried using a stand alone VCR and now everything works perfectly. I guess you just can't use a TV/VCR combo for capturing. Thanks.

  4. Just trying to copy some VHS tapes before they become too old but I might be running into some protection problems. After playing them in my RCA VCR and capturing with my ATI AIW, the TV window plays the movie fine but the captured MPEG video file captures the first few frames fine, then keeps repeating these frames over and over while the audio continues. I have done some research and I guess it's a Macrovision problem. This obviously only happens for tapes that were rented or bought, blank tapes with my own stuff work fine when I capture them. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  5. That is macrovision protection.
I think there is a macrovision remover around somewhere.

  6. Tried this Marcovision patch (it's in the MMC Reg utility for ATI) and can be found around the WEB. Howver I have the same card and it DID NOT remove the Macrovision, I am going with a device to put between the VCR and the Card.
