    HELP...

I'm pulling hair out... why? well here's why:

I've downloaded ffmegX 0.0.9x... installed with the required plugins.

I have an avi file (converted to avi DivX) and a srt file.
I would like to be able to watch this film with subtitles but for some reason i cannot...

I have followed the various tutorials and spent hours researching the this forum following instructions...
    Still no good.

When following the tutorial to convert to DVD with optional subtitles, the encoding takes 2 seconds and produces nothing!?

When encoding to standard mov file with subs loaded it takes 10 mins but.... when played in VLC, DivX, Quicktime etc there is no subtitles...

Can anyone help me on this matter.... I hope i have suplied enough info...

    Regards

    Tatum

  2. You don't really need to re-encode the file if you just want to watch a movie with subtitles. Most software and hardware players allow to input both AVI and SRT files and will overlay the SRT subtitles in realtime while playing the AVI. You can even use ffmpegX "Play" button for that (load the SRT file in the filter tab first).
