  1. Talk about select, rip, burn. I ordered an upgraded drive from PTVupgrade.com, downloaded Vserver and copied to my Tivo... BAM!

Does not get easier than that! http://www.tivotool.com/

    Ok, more info please...?
    So is this:

    a Tivo for your mac?
if so, how does it differ from ElGato's product?
A hacking program to copy stuff off your Tivo?

I see the screenshot, but am unfamiliar with this product?
Is this better than say, using Cable into your Canopus and into your Mac?
Or better than say recording via DVD-VR then ripping those streams into your mac?

  3. There were lot of problems with TiVo MPEG files before for Mac users, and now it looks like that Tivo Tool for Mac resolved most of that...Although Im not sure does it works with TiVo HD files yet /since I dont have TiVo recorder/...

So, since those problems are resolved Mr. Slagle is just sharing his happines with us..

    a Tivo for your mac?
Its an application which connects to TiVo recorder, downloads recordings and burns them on DVD or stores them at HDD..

if so, how does it differ from ElGato's product?
Very similar things...Both are MPEG2 recorders but ElGato products are more Mac friendly...TiVo uses microsoft directX tech. for decoding = lot of troubles for Mac users.

Or better than say recording via DVD-VR then ripping those streams into your mac?
TiVo recorders has HDDs...Mentioned app helps you to transfer, play and burn recorded files on Mac...

Does it work with the TiVo Series 3?

  6. I guess some nice TiVo Series 3 owner should test and let us, poor people, know..

  7. Tivo 3 testing is on-going. I only have a series 1 and series 2 myself. For those looking for a cheap easy solution. Remember the series 1 has NO encryption on the video files.
