Hi. I hope I'm writing in the right place.
I was wondering if there is anyway to get a VCD on to a VHS tape. If so is it pretty much the same thing as hooking up two VCRs? So I'd hook my DVD up to my VCR?
My DVD player reads VCD's.
Here is my problem. I have a webcam, and I've recorded video, and it was just sitting there on my computer, till i discovered I could put it on a VCD. Now I want to make a copy for a friend - who can't view VCDs. So is there someway I can record the VCD on to VHS?
I have a CD burner - two actually. WinTV capture device (external - which I can hook my VCR on to) I also have a DVD player on the computer & a DVD player for my TV.
Can anyone help? Thank you
Kat

Absolutely, just hook the DVD player to a VCR and record away. I did this to put my VCD of Shrek on VHS so we could watch it in the bedroom (where we have no DVD player).

Connect VCD/DVD player's outputs to the VCR's inputs. Just playback the VCD and record on the VHS.

Is there a special way to connect them to one another?
I also have this Mod- something or other which is a big black box that my vcr is plugged into, and then my dvd player is also plugged into it. Will I have to unplug them from this box, and then plug them into each other?
Thanks so much!

About the Mod box thing you talk about Kat, I am guessing your takling about an external input selector? So you can switch between say VCR, DVD player, and a Playstation for eg..?
If this is the case you will have to unplug the DVD Player cords from the box, plug them into the VCR in the RCA in ports, and on your VCR you have to select the input according to where the DVD player is plugged in, you following? Hope that helps, after that, just play on DVD player and Record on VCR. -
You DVD player might have macrovision protection on it which will lead to a f*cked up picture. If this is the case you need a video stabilizer which can be picked up from your local electronics store.

Macrovision messes with the Automatic Gain Control on VCRs and is encoded on commercial DVDs and VHS tapes only...it's not a part of the player, and it's not encoded on commercial VCDs or Laser Discs. Just hook the DVD player audio & video outs to the VCR inputs and have fun. If you want to tape from DVDs, then you need a "video stablizer".
