  1. Hey everyone.

I am trying to get DVD Player that play DIVX / XVID files and my question WHAT TO GET ?

If possible I am trying to get player from bestbuy.com ( I got local store near me) so if anyone can tell me what is the best to get from them that will be nice ! Only 2 things I need in player, MAX compatibility with "most" video/audio codecs and player must have OPTICAL audio out so I can connect it to my receiver for 5.1. I don't care about hdmi or anything ... DIVX and OPTICAL that's it.

So long question short what is best DIVX player at bestbuy with optical audio out.

    Thanks a lot.

    P.S.

I am trying to get something for weeks now ..... some players like phillips are nice but no OPTICAL .... other optical but ..... ahhhh donno please help.

some of those sales people are retarded. i like going into BB and question some salesperson just to see if they can answer the question correctly. most of the time they can't answer and will ask another salesperson. i even had some sales old man ask if i would follow him to the other side of the store to the warehouse to see if the RAM was instock. i told him no but he could walk there himself while i wait for him to come back with the RAM. lazy mferrrr!!!!

to the OP take a look at this link for some divx dvd players.

  4. Hence the 'might' part of my advice.

I've dealt with my share of retarded BestBuy salespeople.

I am getting DVP5960 ... and about Optical as Audio ... damn what an idiot I just saw back of my receiver and it have Digital Coaxial ... so from what I can understand I'll be able to get my 5.1 and DTS signal from DVP5960 to my Yamaha HTR-5440 in no time ..... right ?

Seems to be a decent player from what I've read and it does have digital coaxial output so you should be good to go. Keep in mind that you won't be able to use the upconversion...so if you can find something else cheaper....
