I bought a new Sony RDR-GX330 DVD recorder to record stuff while I'm away. I've mostly used Memorx DVD+RW blanks. After a few (10-15) recordings and reformats I've seen a problem. I recorded a 2 hr program Tues Nite. Today I removed it to watch another dvd. When I put the DVD (VR mode) that I had recorded Tues nite back in the player it gave a non-recordable disk error. I tried to reformat it but it still was recognized as a non-recordable disk. This has happened on at least two occassions with other disks. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not all brands of media are compatible with all brands of recorders and players. This has always been so. Try using verbatim or TY discs to see if you have a better run.

I'm trying Maxell DVD+RW now. What puzzles me is that I had recorded 10 to 20 times on all the disks that I've had a problem with.

Discs have a finite life span. Some last longer than others. I have had cheap RWs (back when I first started) that lasted only 5 - 10 re-writes.

    Thanks Gunslinger,
I'll try Maxell & TDK. What are some of the higher quality Blank DVD manufacturerers?
