Hi everyone,
My name's Marissa. I'm new to this forum. I'm not sure where to post this, so I thought I'd give this board a try.
I edited some recordings made on a stand alone Panasonic DVD recorder with Video Redo. I saved the newly edited files as vobs, hoping to put them back on a DVD just with the advertisements taken out. When I started Nero Vision Express and selected make DVD video, Nero says the vobs are not compliant. Is there anything I can do about this? I know you need ifo and bup files in order to make a proper DVD. But I just have the vobs. Any help would be grately appreciated. I've been pulling my hair out here. I have TMPGenc DVD Author 1.6 and Ifo Editor. Thanks in advance!

The VOBs produced by VideoRedo aren't actually real VOBs, hence Nero turning it's nose up at them. As you have TDA, you could try either of the following (one or both should work)
1. Try using the Add Video function to import the VOBs into a TDA project.
2. Failing that, you can rename the VOBs produced by VideoRedo to .mpg and try importing them into TDA. Normally I would never recommend doing this, however apparently the VOBS from VideoRedo are pretty much just renamed mpeg files.Read my blog here.

Hi So Very Tired!
Thank you so much! I imported the MPG files in to TDA and saved the project. Then I reopened TDA and began outputting them to the DVD folder. Thanks so much. Nero's verifying the video now, this takes longer than the actual burning process. Is it a good idea to have it verify the compellation? Well, I just wanted to thank you for your prompt and so very helpful reply! Nero didn't say anything when I pasted the new vob, bup and ifo files in there. Thanks again!

Good to hear. Personally, I use DVD Info Pro's read test to verify the disc. Nero Speed Disc has a similar function. It isn't much quicker, but I find verification processes generally produce too many erroneous readings. If the read test tells me the data is readable, I'm happy. Every verify process I have tested has produced demonstrably incorrect results pretty consistently.
