    Hi,

I'm a little confused- I open a wav file in Adobe Audition 1.5, go to time stretch and apply speed correction using the resampling mode. The file comes out to be 6 minutes, and 59.23 second, the desired result.

I then put this file into Vegas 6.0. Now all of a sudden Vegas reports the file to be 7 minutes and 01.10 seconds.

So what went wrong there? Why would two different programs produce conflicting results? I need the sync down to tenths and hundredths of a second or else it will throw the whole project off. I have never encountered this problem before and would like to know what is causing it.

Please, any insight would be appreciated.

do the speed conversion in vegas - which does a better job anyway as you can match exactly to the video down to frame / field precision

Thanks BJ_M. It would be a lot easier. But the problem I have with Vegas' speed correction is that it always leaves a nasty "echo" effect. Do you know what I mean?
None of their modes seems to fix it...

in project properties - select the highest sample rate conversion settings

if you just stretch it out on the time line - it also will work fine (still set properties)

Thanks again. I did as you said and that seemed to eliminate some of that nasty "echo" or "repeating". I always left click, go to properties, and go to the "time stretch/pitch stretch" to do a speed correction.

But, in regard to the time line, if I physically move the left and right borders around, it doesn't change the speed. It only shortens or doubles the audio file. So I think I am doing something wrong.

I'm trying to get a feel for Vegas by trying out other methods, that's why I ask about this stuff.
