I have been using ffmpegx to convert AVI files for use on a DVD player. I had been using DVD ffmpeg as the target format. This had been converting files to .avi.ff.mpg and also .avi.ff.mpg.DVD. I don't know why it did this, but it worked when I burned the DVD with the DVD files. For no obvious reason to me, it no longer converts to the .avi.ff.mpg.DVD format. What's up?? Thanks for your help.

Are you saying that you do get the .mpg file, but not the DVD folder? If the Author as DVD option is checked (as is default, I believe), then something went wrong in the authoring, which would be mentioned in the log. Posting that output might help resolving this.
Alternatively, you could try the authoring tool, in the Tools tab.
