    I use CCE, virtualdub and Dvd Lab pro.

    The video file is a Div3 .AVI... which my proggies above deny to cooperate with...

    What should I do?

    Well - do you have the Div3 codec?
    (and DVD-Lab only accepts mpg video)

    simply changing the FourCC to DIVX or DX50 may help too.

    i downloaded that div3 codec. is there any case that it conflicts with newer xvid codec i use?

    I wouldn't recommend installing DivX3. As I recall the decoder was somewhat buggy. Newer versions of DivX can decode it or as already mentioned ffdshow can handle it (decoding and encoding). Changing the fourCC to anything other than MP43 (MS MPEG-4 V3 = DivX3) is not a good idea.
