    I am new to the forum but I did use the advice given here to buy a JVC DR-M100S recorder last winter. The unit has been flawless until recently when it failed to play some rented DVDs. The particular DVDs it refuses to play are "Monster House", it plays up to and including the main menu but won't go any further. Also it wouldn't play "The Butterfly Effect 2," it just gave a disc error message. Both of these DVDs played fine on every other DVD player I have. I checked several older DVDs and they played fine. I also played "Looking for Kitty" without a problem on Friday. Anybody else out there having similar problems?
