We bought a second hand Hitachi DVD Cam b4 going away on a trip. Sadly this model, DZ-BX35E doesn't connect to a PC (which didnt concern us greatly as we figured using the mini discs this wouldn't be a problem).

As I have been unable to purchase the orig software "Imagemixer 3" I purchased the same manufacturer's "Imagemixer mini DVD Dubbing" program, only to realise I can't connect my pc and cam.

I read on the forums here that TMPGEnc 2.0 looks like a good option. It does look like good software but b4 I venture into paying for the full licence, I'd like to know this problem is mine, not software related. I'm only getting some chapters, not all. I'm getting an internal error on some chapters.. "An error ocurred while canceling the title copy to the hard drive ... System Error: Code 1359"

Is this a pc related issue? I was thinking perhaps not enough RAM? or is it a disk corruption type or software related issue.

    Any help would be appreciated.

If I can't make this work, does anyone know a program that I could record it from if i played it? As I am able to play it on my PC just fine. (just the damaged or missing chapters)
    Just a blonde..

    That system error:
Explanation: Unable to complete the requested operation because of either a catastrophic media failure or a data structure corruption on the disk.
If it plays alright in a software player, then the video itself may be OK. But the DVD structure may be odd or corrupted and difficult for your programs to read.

You might try the freeware DVD Decrypter or ISOBuster as they both can extract from damaged DVD files. Then you can edit or do what you want with the video. You can set DVD Decrypter to ignore some errors.

Memory is not likely a factor unless you are having problems in other areas or encoding errors. More memory is not likely to help.

Just from your computer details, though noting to do with your problem, you might think about a second hard drive if you have only the one and you plan to do a lot of video work. It's more efficient with two drives.

    And welcome to our forums.
